Introducing our latest piece of technology we have brought to the business, the OCT machine. OCT stands for Optical Coherence Tomography, and the machine generates a number of images from the back of your eye, also known as the retina. This helps our optometrists check for any ocular conditions 4 years earlier than what a standard eye test would.
The only thing you have to do is look into the machine, find the green cross, and the rest is done for you. It’s as simple as that!

Why should I have an OCT scan done?
We recommend the scan for anyone 18 or over. It’s also handy to have it done if you’re wanting to know more about your eye health, and particullary useful if you suffer from glaucoma, diabetes, AMD or have any family history of ocular conditions.

But I feel fine, fit and healthy! Do I still need an OCT scan?
We always recommend having the scan done, even if you feel your vision is good. Our optometrists can monitor your eyes over time to see if there are any changes to your eye health. This also means we can detect any ocular conditions sooner.

How much does it cost?
The OCT scan costs only £20.
